Methi Chaman Recipe


Methi Chama Ingredients:

Palak 1 bunch
Methi 1/2 bunch
Onion 1
Paneer cubes 6-8
Green chilly 4
Ginger Garlic paste 2 tsp
Turmeric powder 1/4 tsp
Cumin seeds 1 tsp
Coriander-cumin seeds powder 1/2 tsp
Garam masala powder 1/2 tsp
Sugar 1/4 tsp
Cream 1 cup
Oil 1 tbsp
Salt


How to make Methi Chaman:

Clean palak , methi and Blanch in a boiling water.

Drain and keep aside to cool.

Now grind to a fine paste.

Take oil in a non stick pan.

Add cumin seeds and fry for a min.

Now add finely chopped onion.

Fry onion till transparent.

Add chopped green chilly and ginger garlic paste.

Mix finely.

Add ground paste.

Now add turmeric powder, coriander cumin seeds powder, garam masala powder and salt.

Mix finely and allow to cook.

Add paneer cubes and sugar.

Lastly add cream and mix.

Methi chaman is ready.

Serve hot with chapati or roti.

Palak Bhurji

Ingredients:

Palak 1 bunch
Green coriander leaves 1/2 bunch
Crumbled paneer 1 small cup
Tomato 1
Onion 1
Garlic cloves 4
Green chilly 2
Oil 2 tbsp
Salt

 

How to make Palak Bhurji:

Clean and wash palak and coriander leaves finely.

Cook both leaves in a pressure cooker without any water.

Allow to cool and keep water aside.

Make a smooth paste in a mixer with green chillies.

Chop onion, tomato and garlic cloves finely.

In a pan heat oil and add chopped onion and garlic cloves.

Fry onion til transparent.

Now add chopped tomato pieces.

Mix finely.

Cook tomato til oil separates.

Now add ground paste and salt.

Lastly add paneer and mix well.

Add warer which is kept aside.

Allow to boil 2-3 min.

Palak bhurji is ready.

Serve with chapati,roti or naan.

Palak Thepla

Ingredients:

Palak leaves 15-20
Wheat flour 2 cups
Red chilly powder 1 tsp
Turmeric powder 1/2 tsp
Ginger garlic paste 2 tsp
Green chilly 2-3
Oil 2 tsp
Salt

 

How to make Palak Thepla:

Wash palak leaves finely.

Boil palak leaves with little salt. Allow it to cool and drain.

Make a paste in a mixer.

Chop green chillies finely.

Mix wheat flour, red chilly powder, turmeric powder, ginger garlic paste, chopped green chillies, oil and salt in a palak paste.

Knead a dough.

Keep aside for 10 min.

Now make small balls and roll out them into thin Theplas.

Heat a non stick pan. Cook till golden on both sides with oil.

Serve hot with any pickle.

Dal Palak

Ingredients:

     

Moong dal 2 cups
Palak 1 small bunch
Onion 1
Red chilly powder  1 tsp
Turmeric powder 1/4 tsp
Ginger garlic paste 1 tsp
Jeera powder 1 tsp
Lemon juice 2 tsp
Oil  1 tbsp
Salt

 

For tadka:

Ghee 2 tbsp
Asafoetida 1/4 tsp
Kadipatta leaves 5-6
Cumin seeds 1 tsp

 

How to make Dal Palak:

Wash palak and chop it finely.

Soak dal for 30 min and cook it with turmeric dal till smash.

Chop onion finely.

In a pan heat oil and fry onions till golden brown.

Now add ginger garlic paste and fry for a min.

Add finely chopped palak leaves and fry on a low flame for 2-3 min.

Pour cooked dal with red chilly

powder,jeera powder and salt.

Cook dal on low flame till dry.

In a small pan heat ghee and give tadka of cumin seeds, asafoetida and kadipatta.

Pour this tadka on dal.

Mix finely.

Lastly add lemon juice.

Dal palak is ready.

Palak Methi Dal

Ingredients:

Tur dal 2 cups
Palak leaves 1/2 cup
Methi leaves 1/4 cup
Red chilly powder 1 tsp
Turmeric powder 1/2 tsp
Tomato 1
Onion 1
Garlic cloves 2-3
Cumin seed 1 tsp
Kadipatta 1 string
Coriander leaves 1/2 cup
Oil 1 tbsp
Sugar(optional) 1 tsp
Salt

 

How to make Palak Methi Dal:

Chop palak,methi,tomato,onion and coriander leaves finely.

In a pressure cooker cook dal with chopped palak,methi,coriander leaves,onion and tomato.

Give 4-5 whistles.

Heat oil in a pan and add cumin seed and kadipatta.

Pour the dal mixture in a tadka.

Add red chilly powder,turmeric powder,sugar and salt.

Cook for 4-5 min. on low flame.

Palak methi dal is ready.

Serve with hot rice.

Aaloo Palak

Ingredients:

Spinach 2 bunch
Potatoes 4-5
Green chilly 2-3
Cumin seeds 1 tsp
Kasoori methi 1/4 tsp
Whole red chillies 4-5
Ginger 2″
Sugar 1 tsp
Ghee 1/2 cup
Salt

 

How to make Aaloo Palak:

Washed and chopped palak finely.

Boiled potatoes, peeled and chopped.

Heat the ghee in a pan and add cumin seeds, whole red chillies .

Add the ginger, green chilly pieces and saute it till light brown.

Now add potato pieces and fry on high flame till brown.

Add chopped spinach,salt and sugar and mix well.

Allow to cook over high flame till the spinach is tender and excess water has dried.

Aloo Palak is ready.

Serve with roti or chapati.
